About Gran Torino
This was a pretty decent movie. The gran torino, a vintage muscle car, supposedly represents Eastwood’s macho attitude. There were lots of funny moments, as well as violent and hateful ones. There was lack of etiquette, to say the least, when it came to name calling and stereotyping which may be offensive to some viewers. Eastwood gave a strong performance, as usual, but some may feel a bit of deja vu for Dirty Harry. It is unusual for Eastwood but he may be considered a martyr in this film.
I believe the message that we walk away from this movie is that even a hardnosed, reclusive grump can turn lovable. Let me know what you think.
